Child accidentally injured in Wilkes-Barre shooting

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police report a juvenile was accidentally shot in Wilkes-Barre Sunday evening.

Wilkes-Barre City Police Department stated officers responded to the area of Scott and Mundy Street on Sunday around 11:00 p.m., for a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

Man wanted for alleged shooting in Luzerne County

After further investigation, it was learned a child was injured accidentally, police say. The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Wilkes-Barre City Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
