Chia seeds sold at Walmart nationwide recalled due to possible Salmonella

(WHTM) – A recall has been issued for Great Value Organic Black Chia Seeds sold nationwide at Walmart due to the potential presence of Salmonella.

According to an advisory published by the FDA, Natural Sourcing International initiated the voluntary recall of one lot of its 32-ounce packages of black chia seeds.

The product can be identified by the main label on the pouch and the lot number that is printed on the bottom of the back panel of the packaging.

No adverse reactions have been reported to date and the recall is being implemented out of an abundance of caution.

Anyone infected with Salmonella may experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

Anyone with this product is directed to throw it away and will receive a replacement product if they provide proof of purchase.
