Chelsea Clinton Just Challenged Ivanka Trump on Her Father's Dedication to Equal Pay

While Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump are reportedly longtime friends, they definitely seem to have some disagreements about politics, given that their parents are currently going head-to-head in the presidential election.

On Tuesday, Clinton joined Lena Dunham and America Ferrera for a Facebook Live event with Glamour's editor in chief, Cindi Leive, who brought up Ivanka's speech at the GOP Convention last week, "in which she essentially painted her father as the Gloria Steinem of the Republican party." Citing the fact that the nominee's daughter said Donald Trump "would fight for equal pay for equal work" and "focus on making quality child care affordable and accessible for all," Leive asked Clinton, "If you got to ask her a question about how her father would do that, what would it be?"

"It would be that question: 'How would your father do that?'" she responded. "Given it's not something that he has spoken about, there are no policies on any of those fronts that you just mentioned on his website - not last week, not this week. So, I think the 'how' question is super important, in politics as it is in life."

Clinton went on to criticize the Republican nominee not just for his stances on important issues, but also how he's seemingly failed to explain how he plans to pay for them.

"It really matters to me that my mom in this election consistently has told you how she is going to do everything," she said. "Whether that's on gun control or protecting a woman's right to choose or any of the things that we've talked about. She also tells you how she's going to pay for it, which I also think is super important."

"We need a president who understands that social progress also should come with social responsibility and fiscal responsibility," she continued.
