Charges filed in St. Clair Bowl shooting

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – Four people are in custody for a double shooting earlier this month at the St. Clair Bowl, just outside Fairview Heights.

The shooting happened on March 3 around 9:45 p.m. Earlier that evening, large fights broke out between girls in the bowling alley parking lot. Police were called and broke fights up. There were no serious injuries.

Police returned to the bowling alley after receiving a report of a shooting in the business.

The St. Clair Bowl said that a large group of young people came into the building at around closing time and were “causing trouble.”

Investigators said an altercation between two people led to the shooting. Several people involved displayed handguns and began firing. Two people suffered gunshot wounds to their legs.

Police claim Mykel Davis, 20, Brandon Smith, 32, Otarius Thomas, 28, and Imunique Williams, were involved in the shooting.

The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Davis with possession of a firearm without a FOID and two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Smith was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and obstructing justice. Thomas was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. And prosecutors charged Williams with aggravated battery.
