Charge adjusted against 1 of 3 men charged with Canton man's murder in fatal fire

CANTON ‒ A judge has agreed to adjust the criminal charge against Corey E. Bulstrom, one of three codefendants accused in connection with a May 1 arson fire that killed Frank Campbell.

Bulstrom is now charged with complicity to aggravated murder.

A motion submitted Wednesday to Canton Municipal Court by Law Director Jason P. Reese and City Prosecutor Katie Erchick Gilbert asked for the change from the previous charge of aggravated murder.

Judge Richard J. Kubilus granted the request on Thursday.

Bulstrom, a 29-year-old Louisville resident, is also charged with complicity to aggravated arson.

The charges against him allege he aided or abetted Clayton L. Cunningham in setting the fatal fire that killed the 66-year-old Campbell at 200 Lincoln Ave. NW. Cunningham, 25, of Dennison, is charged with aggravated murder and aggravated arson.

Salvatore A. Morris, 31, of Canton is charged with complicity to aggravated murder and complicity to aggravated arson in the same incident.

All three are being held in the Stark County Jail. Bonds for Morris and Bulstrom are $1 million.

Cunningham is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in municipal court.
