Champaign-Urbana MTD routes busses away from protest site

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign Urbana Mass Transit District has announced a series of reroutes in response to a pro-Palestine protest on the University of Illinois campus.

MTD officials posted the news to Facebook. The Red, Green, Bronze, Teal, Silver, Raven, Illini and Link routes are all being directed away from Wright and Green Streets. Details of each reroute are posted online.

Officials said they are working closely with state and local law enforcement and university officials to respond to the rapidly changing street conditions. MTD supervisors and staff are stationed in the area to help facilitate passenger travel.
