Champaign Co. Crime Stoppers looking for tips in wallet theft

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign Police Department and Champaign County Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help in solving a wallet theft that happened last week.

The theft happened on March 19 at Christie Clinic, located at 101 West University Avenue. Officials said that around 11:20 a.m., a man walked into an office at the clinic and stole an employee’s wallet. The employee later learned that one the credit cards inside his wallet was used in $3,000 worth of purchases at Best Buy.

The suspect was captured on camera inside and around the clinic. He was described as a Black male wearing a black and white pinstriped Chicago White Sox cap, a black, gray and white long-sleeved shirt, black jeans and black and white tennis shoes.
