Cerebral Palsy Foundation gets $2.5m to rebuild Wichita apartment complex

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Cerebral Palsy Foundation has received $2.5 million of federal funding to rebuild The Timbers.

The Wichita apartment complex is geared toward people who are low-income and disabled. The Cerebral Palsy Foundation owns the property and is rebuilding units in three phases.

The federal funding will go towards the second phase.

“The tax credits fund a lot of the contraction, but not everything, so this federal assistance that Sen. Moran allowed us to have or appropriated in our direction allows us to gap funding fill the difference between,” Patrick Jonas, the president of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, said.

The new apartments will be larger than the old ones, with accommodations for people with physical limitations.
