Central Cherokee County continues to face significant power outages
Apr. 29—The good news is the number of Cherokee County electric customers without power is continuing to drop; however 1,308 Cherokee County Electric CO-OP homes and businesses continued to be without electricity, as of 1:03 p.m. Monday.
The Pierce's Chapel community, with 691 accounts powerless, is one of the hardest hit areas.
In and around Craft, 228 are without electricity and 201 in the vicinity of Maydelle are in the same boat.
Electric restoration crews have been brought in from outside of the area to assist, as have tree and limb removal services.
No estimation on when all services will be restored has been given.
