Centerton man accused of stabbing, killing mother pleads not guilty

CENTERTON, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Centerton man accused of stabbing and killing his mother has pleaded not guilty, according to Benton County Prosecutor Joshua Robinson.

Kamron Williams, 20, pleaded not guilty to a capital murder charge during his arraignment on Thursday. Williams was arrested on March 29.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Kamron told police in an interview following the stabbing that he told his mom he refused to take his younger sister to school and began having a panic attack.

He said Vicki Williams, his mother, left the residence and returned shortly, where he wanted to confront his mother about taking his sister to school.

Kamron told police he was upset because he thought Vicki took much longer to come home than necessary. He said he thought his mother was sitting outside in her vehicle avoiding him.

He told police when Vicki entered the home, Kamron confronted her, and the two began to argue, first in the kitchen and then in the living room.

Kamron told police Vicki said that she was tired of Kamron and wanted him to leave. Vicki continued expressing her disgust with Kamron and told him that she would call the police, according to the document.

She left the room and Kamron got angry because he thought that he was going to be homeless and that his family did not care about him.

Kamron followed Vicki into her bedroom where they continued the argument. He told police Vicki pointed her hand in Kamron’s face and he then slapped it away.

He told police Vicki then fell and that he thought he punched her, according to the affidavit. Kamron said he grabbed Vicki by her head and hair and took her to the kitchen because he knew there were knives there.

Kamron said he grabbed a large butcher-style knife and began stabbing Vicki. He said he then went outside to wait for police to arrive.

Once they arrived, he told officers he attacked Vicki.

CPD found Vicki with wounds on her right abdominal area, right chest, right arm and left throat. The affidavit said her throat was described as being slashed. Vicki was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Kamron’s younger sister was interviewed by police and she said during the argument that Vicki started recording him with her phone after saying she was going to call the police, according to the affidavit.

She said Kamron was angry and got a small knife and followed Vicki into the bedroom where he stabbed her in the throat. The sister said Vicki dropped to the floor and Kamron dragged her into the kitchen. His sister said she knocked the knife from Kamron’s hand and he then got a larger knife and began to stab Vicki in the kitchen.

According to the affidavit, Kamron was issued a criminal trespass warning on February 12 for Vicki’s home where she was killed and he would not have been allowed to be on the property after that date.

Kamron has a hearing scheduled for June 17.
