Cell phone use now banned at Barbour County High

BARBOUR COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — On Wednesday, February 28, Barbour County High School announced that the use of cell phones would be prohibited on the school campus.

In the announcement, school administrators said the decision was made after consulting with school staff and claimed the new policy would help create a “focused and distraction-free learning environment” for BCHS students.

“We believe that this policy will contribute to a more conducive atmosphere for academic success,” said BCHS administrators.

No such announcements have been made at Barbour County Primary School or Barbour County Intermediate School.
