Celebrating National Nutrition Month in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — March is National Nutrition Month, so 28/22 News stopped by Life Geisinger in Wilkes-Barre to see how they help some members of our community stay healthy in more than one way.

Along with hot nutritious meals, they also provide social events and live music.

They also have a shuttle that will pick up and drop off people visiting the center.

One man who’s been coming to life Geisinger for the past 10 years says having something like this saved his life after losing his wife of 50-plus years.

“Right after she died I stayed home for about 3 months and I started getting real depressed and everything and kids were like ‘You got to get out and start seeing people again,'” said Wilkes-Barre resident William Brayn.

They also have a clinic and physical therapy available to visitors along with a laundry facility and they can also provide assistance with hygiene needs.
