Celebrate Spring with free treats!
PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Although the temperatures in Hampton Roads for the first day of Spring aren’t quite springlike, there is still a reason, or several, to celebrate.
Some retailers are offering freebies and other special promotions in honor of the change of seasons.
Dairy Queen
All day on March 19, 2024, Dairy Queen customers at participating locations will be treated to a free small cone. And if you donate $1 to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, you can get your cone dipped.
According to the company, hundreds of thousands of people in Hampton Roads have received free cones and Dairy Queen has raised tens of thousands of dollars for CHKD.
Lolly’s Creamery
Lolly’s Creamery, which has four locations across Hampton Roads, is running a special promo on Tuesday, March 19 to celebrate the first day of Spring. Bring your favorite tumbler and they’ll fill it with four scoops for only $10.
Rita’s
Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is also offering a spring freebie for 2024. Stop by your local Rita’s on Tuesday, March 19 and get a free 6-ounce Italian ice. There are several locations in Hampton Roads. For details, go to ritasice.com. And if you have the Rita’s app, you’ll also get a free punch for that day.
Starbucks
In celebration of the company’s new spring menu, like its new lavender drinks, Starbucks is giving its app members a free handcrafted drink when you buy one of equal or lesser value ($10 max value). The offer is available Thursday, March 21 from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. You’ll find the coupon in your app.
