How to Celebrate Harrison Ford's Return to the Big Screen

Honor his finest moments From the Albany Times Union to the Associated Press to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, film critics have been hauling out their all time favorite Harrison Ford films and performances ahead of the Cowboys debut. It'd be unfair to single out one individual writer but what the hell: here's the Dispatch's Joe Holleman's list of bests.

10. Patriot Games (1992)

9. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)

8. Air Force One (1997)

7. The Empire Strikes Back (1981)

6. Witness (1985)

5. The Fugitive (1993)

4. American Grafitti (1973)

3. Star Wars (1977)

2. Blade Runner (1982)

1. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Run your fingers through his hair Ford appeared on Letterman to promote his new film and Dave pulled quite the unusual move, as The Wrap's Carole Mallory observed. '

Letterman ran his hand through Ford's hair. Now, I am a plug-search-woman and wondered if Letterman were checking Ford out for plugs. Ford's hair had been carefully combed over to hide the roots, and I was relieved when no hair came off in Letterman's hand. On the other hand, I was angry that Ford had not run his fingers through Letterman's white patch of suspiciously perched hair on his forehead.

Hope and pray for sequels to your favorite Ford movies This is the approach by UGO's Marissa Mell who envisions some rather brilliant sequels the Star Wars alum could undertake. Our favorite pick is Apocalypse Now 2:

Mell writes:

Ford didn't have a majorly huge role in Apocalypse Now, and the flick didn't really leave room for a sequel, but hell, let's get Francis Ford Coppola and Harry back together to film another insane, completely unrelated war film, taking place in Iraq or Afghanistan. If Robert Duvall and Laurence Fishburne are free and Martin Sheen isn't at his son's funeral, they can make cameos, too.
