Caught on Camera: Man steals $250 toy from Daly City anime store

(KRON) — A man was seen taking off with a $250 toy from an anime store in Daly City last week. The theft, which was caught on video, happened on April 25 around 7:21 pm. at Seikado in Westlake Shopping Center.

The unknown suspect appears to get ready to pay for the toy after the employee brings it to the register counter. The man asks the store employee if he can check out another product up top behind the counter.

The employee, turning his back to the suspect, climbs up a ladder to reach for the requested item. The man uses this opportunity to run out of the store with the toy.
