Catalina Express cancels some sailings due to weather

Some trips to Catalina Island have been canceled due to Friday’s inclement weather.

The Catalina Express ferry service made the announcement on X, formerly Twitter, shortly after 9 a.m.

A gale warning is in place for parts of the island from 3 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Saturday.

Winds around the Avalon area are expected to be in excess of 30 mph this afternoon.

Catalina Express said the following sailings have been canceled:

  • Long Beach to Avalon at 6:30 p.m.

  • Avalon to Long Beach at 8:30 p.m.

Catalina Express said their call center is open at 800-995-4386 and can help riders update their reservation.
