Cass Co. deputies: 2 hospitalized after crash, car fire

LAGRANGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say two people were taken to the hospital after a crash in LaGrange Township.

It happened around 11:15 p.m. Thursday at Pokagon Highway and Dailey Road, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say a northbound car on Dailey Road did not yield to oncoming traffic on Pokagon Highway, and a car that was heading east on Pokagon Highway crashed into it.

Both cars left the road and crashed into a utility pole, according to the sheriff’s office. The office says an active power line fell on the northbound car, causing a fire.

The two people inside the northbound car were both able to get out, deputies say. Arriving officers gave them medical care until medical workers arrived, and the two were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Deputies say the occupants of the other car were not seriously injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
