Car fire closes lanes on I-485 in northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A car engulfed in flames has caused two lanes of Interstate 485 to close in northwest Charlotte Friday evening.

According to N.C. Department of Transportation, the fire began around 6:50 p.m. on I-485 Inner in between the Beatties Ford Road bridge and Oakdale Road (Exit 18).

The scene is expected to clear by 9 p.m.
