Car engulfed in flames on Castro Valley road

(KRON) — A car was engulfed in flames overnight on Monday in Castro Valley, the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) posted on social media. Crews were able to extinguish the fire that broke out before 1:01 a.m.

Video (above) shows firefighters extinguishing a fire that is coming out of a four-door vehicle that was parked in the middle of the road. The fire happened near Redwood Canyon Golf Course.

Family of 4 killed in Pleasanton crash identified

No injuries to the community or firefighters were reported, ACFD said. Officials neither mentioned who was driving the involved vehicle at the time nor what happened to them.

It is unknown what caused the fire and how it started. ACFD tweeted about the fire at 12:14 p.m. on Monday.
