Car crashes into adult store in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A car crashed into an adult store in Battle Creek on Sunday morning, authorities say.

It happened shortly before 7 a.m. at Romantix on W. Michigan Avenue at Grand Avenue, the city of Battle Creek said. When police got there, they found the car inside the building.

Authorities say the car, which had been going east, left the road and crashed through the west wall, “stopping fully inside.”

Witnesses pointed police to the driver, a 33-year-old Battle Creek man whose name was not released, nearby. He sustained minor injuries.

Police suspected the man was under the influence of something, so he was taken to the hospital to be checked out and for testing.

The driver was the only person in the car and the building was empty when the crash happened, so no one else was hurt.
