Calmer skies with seasonal temperatures in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Tuesday, Utah! After a cool and wet start to the workweek, we’re back to quiet skies and seasonal temperatures today! Across the state we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with partly cloudy skies up north and mostly sunny skies down south.

Outside of the high country, daytime highs will mainly range in the 50s and 60s this afternoon with several spots in southern Utah expected to see highs in the 70s. St. George will be the warm spot by coming in just shy of 80 degrees.

Utah temperatures quickly rebound following a cool start to the work week

By tonight, a weak system will approach northern Utah. This system will lead to increased clouds and a slight chance of showers in northern Utah from tonight into our Wednesday.

If we do see wet weather, showers will generally favor the mountains. Otherwise, we’ll see partly cloudy to partly sunny skies up north.

Southern Utah won’t feel the influence of the system, resulting in another mostly sunny day with temperatures a little warmer than what we find this afternoon.

Temperatures will hold steady for our Thursday from what we get tomorrow with quiet skies. As we round out the workweek and move into the weekend, temperatures will begin to warm as high pressure begins to build in across the western US.

This will allow for mostly calm skies to persist as temperatures return to the 70s along the Wasatch Front by Sunday while St. George could see upper-80s by that point!
