Busy Wawa on North Oxford Valley Road is closed for renovations. Here's when it reopens

Wawa, the popular food/coffee/gas stop for tens of thousands of people in the Philly metro region, is renovating one of its busiest locations in Bucks County.

The store at 132 North Oxford Valley Road is closed to undergo a facelift inside and out.

"The entire inside was gutted," said manager Tony Amato. "Customers will be really pleased with the new, bright look as they walk into the store. From top to bottom, everything is new and the outside received a much needed facelift as well."

"Along with the new look," he said, "we will finally have milkshakes to serve our customers. We were the only Wawa in the region without milkshakes."

Grand re-opening is set for 6 a.m. Friday, May 10. Coffee is on the house as a thanks for being patient.

Wawa is the largest convenience store chain in Southeastern Pennsylvania and ranks as the third largest food retailer here, after Acme and Shop Rite.

As of April 8, 2024, the company operates 1,050 stores, mostly on the East Coast. Now celebrating its 60th anniversary, Wawa will open the first store this year in Kill Devil Hills, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It will be the first of 80 stores in that state, an expansion that will take about 10 years, according to the company website.
