Burglary suspects in green Dodge Charger ram Tracy PD vehicle

(KRON) — Two burglary suspects rammed a police vehicle while attempting to flee on Monday, according to the Tracy Police Department. Tracy PD received a series of calls throughout the day Monday regarding auto burglary and theft. The suspects involved were reportedly driving a green Dodge Charger.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, a Tracy PD officer saw a Green Charger matching the description parked at Motel 6 in the 3800 block of North Tracy Boulevard.

While the officer was surveilling the Charger and awaiting backup, two people — later identified as Enrique Antunez, 34, and Karris Garcia, 32 — were seen getting into the car. The suspects, who were both from Fremont, tried to leave the parking lot, police said.

The officer attempted to detain them, but the driver of the Charger, Antunez, quickly reversed and rammed the marked Tracy PD vehicle driven by a uniformed officer. Assisting units were able to disable the suspect vehicle. Both suspects were detained without further incident, police said.

No officers were injured during the incident.
