Bullard ISD announces Class of 2024 valedictorian, salutatorian

May 2—The Bullard Independent School District announced the names of two members of the Class of 2024 whose dedication to excellence has earned them the highest honors of their graduating class. These two exceptional students are active leaders among their peers, pouring countless hours into achieving high levels of success in their academic and extracurricular activities.

Rachel Petty, daughter of Ben and Toni Petty, is the Class of 2024 Valedictorian. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler to study nursing while also playing clarinet in the UT Tyler Band. Ultimately, she intends to earn a doctoral degree to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Petty has been a member of the Bullard Panther Marching Band for seven years and has served as Head Drum Major, library captain and principal clarinet player. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, UIL Academics, and a member of the Green Acres Orchestra.

Caden Garrick, son of Matt and Christie Garrick, is the Class of 2024 Salutatorian. He plans to attend Texas A&M University where he will major in engineering and join the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and Corps of Cadets. After college, Garrick plans on joining the United States Navy to work as an engineer. Garrick is both a drum major and section leader within the Bullard Panther Marching Band, where he has earned numerous first-division state solo and ensemble awards. He is also a two-time member of the ATSSB All-State band. Along with music, Garrick enjoys attending church events, spending time with friends and fishing.

The graduation ceremony for the Bullard High School Class of 2024 will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Panther Stadium.
