Bruce Talbott on this year’s crop

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — As we enter the spring growing season farmers across the Western Slope are checking their crops to see how they are expected to fair this year.

Bruce Talbott, co-owner and operator of Talbott’s Mountain Gold, is expecting a strong season ahead.

“We think all in all, we’re still looking at 85% of a crop for this year.”

Talbott showed WesternSlopeNow how he is able to make that prediction.

“If they’re dead they just fall off. We can just brush them off. So, everything here is sticking. So, these are essentially 100% alive.

Talbott also expects a good wine grape season as well.

Something to look out for as we enter year’s growing season.
