Victoria is a force to be reckoned with. She is always ready for the next challenge. She was accepted to the Governor's Scholars Program, Governor's School for Entrepreneurs, and waitlisted for Governor's School for the Arts. She was also nominated for the College Board’s National African American Recognition Award.

The nomination period and poll voting for Student of the Week opens every Monday and closes at noon each Thursday. The students are featured in the Sunday Courier Journal. Schools can nominate students with this link: http://bit.ly/3SaSNOZ.

Learn about the Student of the Week nominees:

Savannah Prather, Oldham County High School: Savannah goes above and beyond. She works more than 40 hours a week and takes college courses through a dual credit program. She was on the school's varsity cheerleading team from 2021-2023 and stepped away from her varsity sport her senior year to better prepare herself and save money to pay her way through college to become a nurse.

Elijah Schroering, North Harrison High School: We are thrilled to share that Elijah Schroering, a dedicated 10th-grade student at North Harrison High School, has achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 4071. Eli is not only reliable and hardworking but also a beacon of kindness. His commitment to excellence shines through as he proudly maintains an honor roll status and has been accepted into the esteemed electrical program at Prosser. With aspirations to become an electrician post-graduation, Eli is not only a star in academics but also shines on the cross country and track team.

Benjamin Kilpatrick, Youth Performing Arts School: Benjamin is a self-taught musician who made it into Youth Performing Arts School on his merit. He can play the trumpet (for which he has earned scholarships from two prestigious colleges in Boston). He is very helpful and encouraging to the other band members. Benjamin has helped start a small Jazz ensemble of five musicians at YPAS and carried on with his class load while doing so.
