Brookings man charged with 10 counts of child pornography, court documents show

A 27-year-old Brookings man was arrested Monday for 10 counts of possession of child pornography, according to Minnehaha County court documents.

Cole Hennen was arrested based on a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Factual considerations in the bond findings and conditions of release state he “admitted this had been going on for years, videos of child rape. Doesn’t appear to be manufacturing or distributing.”

Hennen’s initial court appearance was Monday afternoon, where a personal recognizance bond of $100,000 was set, according to court documents. Conditions of bond include good behavior and no contact with persons younger than 18.

The initial preliminary hearing will be held at 3 p.m. May 7. A second hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. June 6.

The Division of Criminal Investigation is handling the case.
