New Broad Street Market structure now open
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The newly constructed structure at the Broad Street Market in Harrisburg is officially open to the public.
After months of work, the new structure across from the Stone Building at the Broad Street Market has officially opened to the public earlier today on Thursday, May 23.
“We are thrilled that this day has finally come,” Eric Hagarty, Chair of the Market said. “It has been a true community-driven effort to bring this project to completion, and we could not be more grateful to everyone who has supported the Market’s vendors and patrons as we continue to recover from last July’s devastating fire. The opening of the new structure is another step towards a lasting recovery for our community.”
According to The Market, they are now home to 24 local business vendors, that consist of:

Both of the buildings at the Broad Street Market campus will be operational this week on Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Broad Street Market was first founded back in 1860 and is the oldest continuously operated market house in the United States. The market now has dozens of vendors that offer locally grown and organic produce, meats, baked goods, freshly prepared meals, and more.
