Bright and mild before new storm threat tonight

It’s a cooler start to the morning this Thursday with temperatures in the 40s and low 50s. This is ~15° to 20° colder than yesterday morning, so, a jacket is recommended if you’re heading out early. However, we have a pretty spectacular afternoon lined up. Clouds will be increasing but that won’t stop temperatures from rising back to very mild levels. Highs will be in the range of 75° to 80° today.

A new storm threat is on the horizon and this one is associated with a stronger cold front that will turn us noticeably colder to finish the workweek. Storm chances will rise mid evening hours as a line of storms is expected to be nearing the western state line near 8 to 9 PM. This slides through the state into the overnight hours and the severe threat is expected to be out of here by 1 to 2 AM. All modes of severe weather are possible with these storms, so, be sure to have a way to get alerts when you go to bed tonight. All of central Indiana is highlighted under the possibility of seeing severe storms but points south and west of Indianapolis are at the greatest risk.

We finish out the work week much cooler with high temperatures only near 60° Friday afternoon. The weekend will be dry but it will be a far cry from last weekend. No more 70s and 80s in the forecast for a little while. Highs over this weekend will only be in the 50s.
