Bridge closure coming up in Tuscarora

TUSCARORA, N.Y. (WETM) — A bridge in the Town of Tuscarora is closing for more than a month starting on Monday.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, the bridge that carries Stead School Road over South Branch Glendening Creek between county Route 5 and Warfell Road is closing for all through traffic on April 15 to accommodate a construction project. Crews will be completely rebuilding the bridge with a new concrete box culvert.

Roadwork coming up in Riverside

This construction project is expected to take about six weeks, and there will be an off-site detour to redirect traffic. The detour will use county Route 5, Thompson Road, Warfell Road, and Stead School Road.

The sheriff’s office is reminding motorists to stay alert and follow posted signage while driving through the roadwork area.
