Bride accused of using her wedding as a ‘gift grab’: ‘A designer purse is not a wedding gift’
A bride’s wedding registry is going viral for all the wrong reasons.
The bridezilla requested a list of very expensive gifts in a now-viral Facebook post that was screenshotted by the Australian news outlet 7news. Many people found her demands to be unthinkable. The registry included designer handbags, a new car, home renovations and cash.
“I would like to announce our gift registry to everyone! To all those coming to my wedding, there [is] a list of gifts that you can bring. You MUST choose from the list or consult me first. There are no exceptions,” she wrote.
The bride expected that wedding guests pay no less than $400 for a gift.
“Any KitchenAid appliance over $350, this does NOT mean kitchen items like an apron or a spatula,” the bride wrote. “I’m talking about their stand mixer, blender, etc. Any Gucci or Louis Vuitton purses. Other purses are allowed, but please consult me first. Any clothes over $400 from Calvin Klein, Moschino or Nora’s. New floor tiles for the entire house (I know this one is a bit of a stretch, but I’d gladly appreciate it).”

She also took the opportunity to ask for luxury skincare, artworks and clothes.
“A new car or a new trim for my car, or anything in relation to the care,” the bride said. “$400 or more gift cards to any of the following places: Sak’s Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Calvin Klein, Gucci, Whole Foods, Sprouts, maybe even JC Penny. Other places are acceptable, but please talk to me first. Any Korean or Asian beauty products totaling $400 or more. Any HIGH-CLASS paintings or decorations totaling $400 or more. A cash gift of $400 or more.”
The bride said she is willing to accept lower amounts as long as she is told first. She went so far as to provide a spreadsheet for guests to indicate which gift they are buying from the registry.
“I really hate people who use weddings as a gift grab,” someone wrote on Facebook.
“I’m sorry, but a designer purse for the bride is not a wedding gift. Wedding gifts are for the couple to start their life together,” another said.
“Who buys a couple a new car for their wedding? Like where did I go wrong?” a user asked.
