BRAINTREE – A stop at the grocery store turned into a very lucrative visit for a local woman.

Suxia Lin, of Braintree, was the lucky winner of a $1 million Lottery prize from the multi-state Mega Millions game. Lin matched the five white balls but missed out on the Mega Ball. Had she matched the Mega Ball, she would have cashed in the $735 million jackpot. The pot would go unclaimed until March 28, when a single ticket bought in New Jersey matched all six numbers and cashed in a $1.13 billion prize.

Lin, who bought the ticket at Kam Man Food in Quincy, claimed the one-time payment at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. She hasn't decided yet, but might use some of her windfall to purchase a condo.

The grocery store also benefits from Lin's good fortune, earning a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

The Mega Millions winning numbers are drawn at 11 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. The game is available in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
