Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh gears up for year's biggest fundraiser. WineFeast is set for April 27 and tickets are on sale now.

OSHKOSH — The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh’s largest fundraiser of the year, WineFeast, will be April 27 at the Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center.

WineFeast features a dinner-and-wine experience that begins with a champagne reception at 5 p.m. Attendees will have five dinner courses, each paired with wine, a live auction, and a short program that includes a story from the Youth of the Year about the impact the Boys & Girls Club has on Oshkosh youth and families.

Following dinner, Night Cap offers opportunities to sample a variety of wines, domestic and imported brews, and dishes from local eateries. Entertainment will be provided by Mike Kubicki Quartet. Guests also can bid on a silent auction and take part in several raffles, including a reverse raffle, wine, and chocolate raffles.

Tickets are $150 per person or $1,200 for a table of eight. Reservations include the dinner and a full-access pass to Night Cap. Purchase online at bgcosh.org/WineFeast.

Open House for new Lakeshore Park facility is March 5

An open house for Oshkosh’s new Lakeshore Park Four Seasons Building will be 5 to 6 p.m. March 5. The facility is on the east side of Lakeshore Park at the north end of Punhoqua Street.

It is available to rent year-round and is equipped with air conditioning and heat. The building has interior restrooms and exterior restrooms, and a wraparound deck. Rental times are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The large open assembly room accommodates up to 96 people seated. The rental includes the use of tables and chairs. Adjacent to the assembly room is a kitchenette that has a full-size refrigerator with freezer, counter space with electrical outlets, a handwashing sink, and a pass-through serving window.

To rent the facility, call the Oshkosh Parks Department at 920-236-5080 or stop by the Parks Department at 805 Witzel Ave. Office hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Rental fee must be paid in full when making a reservation. Dates will not be held until full payment is received.

Red Cross hosts local blood drives in Winnebago County

American Red Cross asks people of all blood types to donate blood or platelets. To donate, individuals must be 17 or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification will be required at check-in.

Upcoming blood drives are scheduled at the following times:

  • March 7: 2 to 6 p.m., Calvary Lutheran Church, 2580 W. Ninth Ave., Omro;

  • March 8: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Omro High School, 455 Fox Trail; and

  • March 11: 1 to 6 p.m., Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1140 Tullar Road, Neenah.

Free information seminar for veterans set for March 9

Disabled American Veterans will offer a free information seminar March 9 in Oshkosh. The seminar will be held 1 to 2 p.m.  at Winnebago Detachment No. 357 Marine Corps League, 4715 Sherman Road.

The seminar is intended to help veterans and their families obtain the services and benefits they have earned. DAV national service officers provide professional support throughout the claims and appeals process.

Veterans attending a seminar should bring identification, Social Security number and any other documentation regarding their military service. DAV membership is not required to attend.
