Bill Cosby Accusers Waiting Outside Courthouse Say They'll 'Be Dancing' If He's Convicted
Bill Cosby arrived at court Tuesday as jurors entered their second day of deliberations in his sexual assault trial.
The jury met for four hours Monday without reaching a decision on whether the shamed 79-year-old comic drugged and attacked Andrea Constand in 2004 at his luxury home outside Philadelphia.
Prosecutors declined to file charges at the time, and Constand, then an employee at Temple University, filed a civil suit against Cosby. That suit was settled out of court.
Other accusers stood outside court Tuesday, waiting for the jury to reach a verdict.
Victoria Valentino, a former Playboy bunny who says Cosby drugged and raped her 1965, said she would be thrilled with a conviction.
"We'll be dancing. Woo hoo!" she said. Cosby has denied all accusations against him.
In closing arguments Monday, Cosby’s attorneys portrayed him as a man about town, but not a criminal. The prosecution painted him as a star who used his celebrity power to intimidate and assault young women.
Defense lawyer Brian McMonagle told the court Cosby and Constand had a consensual sexual relationship and appeared to scold his client.
“You danced outside your marriage,” he declared while pointing at Cosby. He then turned to Cosby's wife, Camille, telling her, "You deserved better."
Camille Cosby accompanied her husband to court Monday. It was her only appearance at the highly publicized trial.
