Big rig crash closes westbound I-80

(FOX40.COM) — A big rig crash along westbound I-80 in the Sierra Nevada has closed the highway for an undetermined amount of time, according to the California Highway Patrol Truckee station.

The crash was between a big rig and a Caltrans sander. The big rig collided with the rear of the sander and resulted in the “cab of the big rig being completely ejected from the truck.”

Both drivers walked away from the crash and no other people were injured.

Westbound traffic is being turned at Stateline and Donner Gate in Truckee.
