May 14—President Joe Biden will visit New Hampshire for a taxpayer-financed official event in Merrimack on Tuesday, White House officials said.

More details will come later this week.

In March, Biden visited Goffstown for an official event on controlling health care costs, followed by a political stop at the Biden-Harris coordinated campaign offices in Manchester.

Two women dealing with problem pregnancies in states with abortion bans spoke at a Concord news conference in support of the Biden-Harris campaign Tuesday.

"The bottom line is President Trump and Republican extremists in New Hampshire make it clear no woman is safe if Donald Trump makes it back to the White House," said Amanda Zurawski of Austin, Texas.

Zurawski said she nearly died due to a severe bacterial infection in Texas because doctors there were legally barred from performing an abortion even thought they had concluded the fetus would not survive.

Zurawski is featured in a Biden reelection campaign ad that began airing last month.

In 2021, Gov. Chris Sununu signed a state budget deal that included a ban on abortions after six months except if the mother's life is at risk or the fetus has a fatal anomaly.

Trump says states should determine their own regulations with regards to abortion restrictions.

"We want states to make their own decisions because they are closer to the people," said Chris Ager, chairman of the Republican State Committee.

"New Hampshire has a reasonable law when it comes to abortion and the approach is supported by the overwhelming majority of citizens."
