Bicyclist shot at in Toms River mobile home park; police need help in investigation

TOMS RIVER - A bicyclist was shot at while riding through a mobile home park Tuesday afternoon, and police are asking for the public's help in the investigation, authorities said Wednesday.

At approximately 4:05 p.m., Toms River Police responded to the area of Camino Medio for reported gunshots heard in the area, authorities said. Contact was made with a male victim who told police he was riding his bicycle through the Friendly Village development and was shot at by a juvenile he apparently knew.

Multiple rounds were fired, police said. The victim was not hit, but some neighboring houses were.The Ocean County CSI Unit responded to document the scene and collect evidence, according to police. The juvenile suspect - pictured in the white shirt - has been identified and juvenile complaints were approved and signed for attempted murder and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Investigators need help identifying the individual in the black shirt and/or the silver vehicle pictured, police said. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact Detective Joseph Mastronardy 732-349-0150 X1346.
