The Bettendorf Public Library invites you to learn about an Iowan called ‘the most remarkable woman writing short stories in the Republic.’

The Ruth Suckow Traveling Exhibit will be on display at the Bettendorf Public Library April 14 – May 12. According to a release, author Ruth Suckow lived throughout Iowa, and her work probed life in the Hawkeye State from the 1880s through World War II. In conjunction with the exhibit, the library will feature Profound Realism: The Rediscovery of Ruth Suckow on Thursday, April 18 at 1:30 p.m. The free lecture will be presented by area Ruth Suckow Memorial Association members Michael and Hedy Hustedde, who will give a talk about their personal attraction to Suckow’s legacy and introduce the traveling exhibit.

The Ruth Suckow Traveling Exhibit is Sunday, April 14 through Sunday, May 12 at the Bettendorf Public Library, located at 2950 Learning Campus Dr., Bettendorf. For more information, click here.
