These are the best public high schools in Colorado: US News ranking

DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado is home to hundreds of high schools, and U.S. News and World Report found which public schools were considered the best in the state.

The 2024 report was released this week and looked at the “Best High Schools” in the state. The schools were rated based on the weighted scores in six categories: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance and graduation rate.

According to U.S. News and World Report’s 2024 ranking, a Jefferson County public school was considered the best high school in Colorado.

Here are the 10 highest-ranking public schools in the Centennial State:

These are just the top 10 schools in Colorado. U.S. News and World Report ranked 504 schools in the state. You can find your school or alma mater on this list.

The top 10 schools all had graduation rates that exceeded 91%, with one school — Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy — having a 100% graduation rate.

The best high school in the entire country was a charter school in Arizona. BASIS Peoria in Peoria, Arizona was ranked as the best school with a score of 100 for college readiness.
