This is the best month to sell your home in San Diego, according to Zillow
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — When is the best time of year to list your home for sale in San Diego?
According to a recent study by Zillow, an online real-estate marketplace, the spring season may be an advantage to sellers in America’s Finest City.
A Zillow analysis of 2023 sales found that homes listed in the last two weeks of April sold for 3.1% more, with a $29,600 boost on the median home.
“The old logic was that sellers could earn a premium by listing in late spring, when search activity hit its peak,” Zillow’s Treh Manhertz noted in a report on the findings. “Now, with persistently low inventory, mortgage rate fluctuations make their own seasonality.”

What does this mean for spring buyers?
Based on this analysis, it may be better to wait until the end of the year to purchase homes in San Diego if flexibility is an option.
Is this true for other housing markets?
Zillow’s data shows the best month to sell homes varies depending on the market area. Nationwide, sellers who listed their homes in early June made the biggest profits in 2032 — selling for 2.3% more.
According to researchers at Zillow, this average timeframe is a month later than the year prior, which they said is most likely driven by mortgage rates.
As far as other markets in California, the spring season held true for better rates in some other metropolitan areas. Here’s a look at Zillow’ s findings for the Golden State:
