The New Berlin School District's Brady Reinke will take over as the new Whitnall School District superintendent on July 1

After its last permanent superintendent retired and an interim superintendent resigned earlier this year, the Whitnall School Board has selected the district's next superintendent.

Brady Reinke, currently the New Berlin School District's director of elementary teaching and learning, will take over as the new superintendent July 1, according to an April 15 news release from the Whitnall School District.

Reinke was one of three finalists for the position. The other two finalists were Ronald Rivard, principal and curriculum director for the Randall Consolidated School District J1 in Burlington; and Chad Schraufnagel, principal and superintendent of the Lake Country School District.

Along with his current role, Reinke has served in other leadership roles within the New Berlin School District. He served as an associate principal and as the principal of Poplar Creek Elementary and as principal of Ronald Reagan Elementary. Reinke also provided feedback in the development of Wisconsin Act 20, and was as an adviser to the Early Literacy Curriculum Council's members, the news release said.

Reinke holds a doctorate in leadership for the advancement of learning and service from Cardinal Stritch University, a master's degree in educational leadership from Concordia University and a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a member of the school's wrestling team, the news release said.

The board had been seeking a replacement for superintendent Lisa Olson, who announced in November she was ending her contract early and retiring in January. Ed Brzinski took over as interim superintendent Jan. 16, but announced his resignation just two weeks later, effective Feb. 9. The district hired interim superintendent Kristen Taylor to serve in the role until the district could find its next permanent superintendent. Taylor will remain in that role through June and plans to and will help with the onboarding and transition process for the new superintendent.
