Belleville man sentenced for armed robberies at Illinois gas stations
FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. – A Belleville, Illinois, man appeared in federal court on Wednesday to be sentenced for his role in a string of armed robberies at gas stations in St. Clair County.
Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois said Treveon J. Ramsey, 21, and two other men planned and committed robberies at three gas stations in Belleville and Shiloh between October and December 2021.
Ramsey and Javeon Dowell, 21, robbed a Circle K in Belleville on Oct. 29, 2021, taking an undisclosed amount of cash. On Nov. 30, 2021, Ramsey joined Dylan Harrington, 21, in robbing a Circle K in Shiloh. They stole cash and a box of cigars. On Dec. 1, 2021, the trio went to another Circle K in Belleville, brandished firearms, and stole money from the clerk.
It’s not clear when the men were arrested.

Ramsey pleaded guilty in January 2024 to two counts of interference with commerce by robbery and two counts of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. A U.S. District Court judge sentenced Ramsey to 20 years in federal prison.
In July 2023, Harrington accepted charges of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery and the carry and use of a firearm during a crime of violence. He was sentenced to 127 months in prison.
Dowell has already pleaded guilty to his involvement in the robberies and will be sentenced at the federal courthouse in East St. Louis on June 5.
