In Belgorod, residents are taking unconventional steps to protect their vehicles from the fallout of frequent drone attacks and the impacts of Russian air defense activities. Published photos reveal the lengths to which locals are going to safeguard their cars.

Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov shared images on Telegram on March 28.

The photos show vehicles covered with an array of makeshift materials like plywood, tires, cotton blankets, and rugs, reflecting the community's resourcefulness in the face of adversity. These improvised solutions have become a common sight in Belgorod, as people lack access to safer, more conventional means of protection like underground parking or sturdy shelters.

"This is how local drivers are trying to protect their cars from their own Russian air defense systems in Belgorod," Butusov wrote.
