‘Beers and Bingo’ event to raise money for Marquette County Habitat for Humanity

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WJMN) – Ready to get your bingo on? There’s a chance for you to play bingo and support Marquette County Habitat for Humanity at the same time.

The ‘Beers and Bingo’ fundraiser will be held Monday, April 8 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Kognisjon Bryggeri located at 1034 N 3rd Street in Marquette.

Local 3 News stopped by Higgins Bingo Supplies in Marquette as the bingo professionals are helping Habitat for Humanity get ready for their their first ever event like this.

“Kognisjon is brewing us a beer,” said Kristin Collins, Program Support Specialist, Marquette County Habitat for Humanity. “There’s more to come with that. They are going to match a dollar for every pint that’s sold. It’s for all of our repairs, ramps, home builds, everything. We are grant and donation based. Everything we get stays right here in Marquette County.”

From prizes, to drinks, and help with putting on the game of bingo, Collins says this has been a community effort.

“Our community has brought and given and I have gone again and asked for the most amazing prizes,” said Collins. “No matter what, you’re going to leave with more than what you came for, for sure.”

Tickets for admission are $20 ahead of time, which gets you two sets of boards. If you pay at the door on the day of the event it’s $25 for the same amount of boards. For $100, you get 10 sets of boards and a Habitat for Humanity swag bag.

You can purchase tickets by stopping at Marquette County Habitat for Humanity’s main office at 2354 US-41 in Harvey, or give them a call at (906) 228-3578.
