Your beer is almost here: How to get discounted tickets to Ocean Brews & Blues

Discounted, early-bird sampling tickets just went on sale for one of South Florida’s largest craft-beer festivals, Ocean Brews & Blues, returning to the oceanfront in Deerfield Beach on Saturday, May 18.

Now in its seventh year, OBB seems to be adding beers and breweries every day, currently expecting to pour more than 170 beers from close to 100 breweries from across the state and around the globe.

The free event includes live bands, food and local vendors. No word yet on the music lineup, but last year’s festival included sets from local favorites Shaw Davis & The Black Ties and guitarist Joey Gilmore.

Admission to the festival is free, but a sampling ticket gets you unlimited servings of beer in a souvenir glass. Early-bird tickets are on sale for $45+ for general admission from 4 to 8 p.m. VIP tickets cost $75+ and include sampling from 3 to 8 p.m., along with access to a VIP tent and VIP-only beers and food.

Tickets will be sold at the discounted early-bird rate until Monday, April 1.

Among the breweries that have signed up so far are familiar names such as NOBO Brewing (Boynton Beach), Cove Brewery (Deerfield Beach), 26 Degree Brewing (Pompano Beach), Dangerous Minds Brewing (Pompano Beach), 3 Sons Brewing (Dania Beach), Gulf Stream Brewing (Fort Lauderdale), Dancing Calavera Brewing (Miami) and Ocean Republic Brewing (Stuart).

Others to look forward to include Brewery Ommegang (Cooperstown, N.Y.), Clown Shoes Beer (Boston), Penn Brewery (Pittsburgh), New Glory Craft Brewery (Sacramento), Ayinger Brewing (Germany), Lindemans (Belgium), Samuel Smith Old Brewery (England) and Green’s Gluten Free Beers (Belgium).
