Bedford PD makes arrests in two child sex-related investigations

BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) — The Bedford Police Department has announced that two people are now in custody in connection to separate ongoing investigations involving crimes against children.

On April 11, officers arrested 39-year-old Franco Calestino Herrera, from Montgomery County, on three felony offenses related to sexual crimes against children.

Police said with assistance from Virginia State Police and the U.S. Marshal Service, on April 23 officers arrested 57-year-old Richard A Stoneberger, from Bedford. Stoneberger was arrested on three felony charges under VA Code 18.2-374.3, about the use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.
