Bedford FD responds to residential fire in Montvale

BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR)– The Bedford Fire Department responded to a residential fire in Montvale on Saturday, April 6.

According to the fire department, crews were dispatched at 10:10 a.m. to Mountain View Church Rd on a report of a residential structure fire. Crews arrived on the scene and found a single-story home with heavy smoke and flames coming out of multiple sides of the residence.

Crews established RTI while firefighters began to attack the fire. A wagon and tanker were both on the scene to provide extra manpower and water to help in control efforts.

The fire department reports crews were on the fire ground for approximately two hours and were able to bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported to fire personnel or residents.
