Beaver Lake campsites closed following severe storms

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Campsites at Beaver Lake are closing due to severe storms that devastated the area.

According to a press release from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rocky Branch, Horseshoe Bend and Prairie Creek campgrounds and picnic areas are closed for safety reasons.

USACE says an excessive amount of debris, downed trees and exposed powerlines make the sites unsafe until they can be cleared away.

The closures will allow USACE staff time to clear away debris and remove damaged vehicles and campers.
