Bay FC sells out inaugural home game Saturday, traffic delays expected

(KRON) — After winning its first match 1-0 on the road against Angel City FC, the Bay Area’s new women’s professional soccer team, Bay FC, will play its first home game Saturday. On Wednesday, the team announced that the match was sold out.

With 18,000 tickets sold for the team’s first home game, which will see them take on the Houston Dash at PayPal Park, Bay FC has issued a traffic advisory. Parking lots are expected to fill quickly, according to the team.

Fans attending the match are encouraged to take BART, Caltrain or use rideshare services. Fans driving to the match are advised to expect traffic delays, especially around kickoff time at 7 p.m.

The team advises allowing an extra 30 to 45 minutes to arrive on time at PayPal Park. Stadium gates will open at 5 p.m. The first 5,000 fans through the gate will receive an inaugural pin. There will also be a fanfest area inside the stadium.

Bay FC is the newest expansion team in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). The team was established in 2023 and co-founded by former USWNT players Brandi Chastain, Leslie Osborne, Danielle Slaton and Aly Wagner.
