PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. (WKRG) — Crews were out preparing the Gulf Side Pavilion Tuesday morning on Pensacola Beach, getting ready for the kickoff of the 2024 Bands on the Beach concert series.

“I think it’s great!” Pensacola resident Kristen Emery said. “I like to see live music and nothing beats something that’s free, and you’re at the beautiful location. I mean what more what could you ask for?”

Every Tuesday from now through October, people will bring their lawn chairs, their picnic baskets and their dancing shoes for the free and family friendly live music series.

Hosted by the Santa Rosa Island Authority, the weekly concert gives tourists and locals alike a reason to groove on a Tuesday night.

“It’s something that you know on a Tuesday night which is sometimes not as busy of an evening to come out here and showcase some of our beautiful restaurants, stop by have a drink before or after the band and see what our beach has to offer,” Santa Rosa Island Authority Director of Administration Robbie Schrock said.

The lineup of regional bands features a little something for everyone.

“We have a very, very eclectic lineup this year,” Schrock said. “We pride ourselves on having music for everyone to enjoy, so throughout the year there’s gonna be a band that’s gonna be your new favorite.”
